BenQ Confirms its Position as Leader in Lifestyle Technology with Launch of Joybook 7000 - World's First 14" Wide-Screen Laptop
Dubai, United Arab Emirates
BenQ, the region's leader in digital lifestyle products, has consolidated its position in the Middle East notebook sector, following a year's sustained growth in this highly competitive market. To mark the event, BenQ is announcing the region-wide launch of the Joybook 7000 - the world's first 14" wide-screen laptop.
Since entering the Middle East market, BenQ has witnessed a strong demand for its Joybook range of notebooks, as consumers seek highly functional laptops that are packed with high-specification entertainment features, allowing them to be used for work and play.
The success BenQ has enjoyed in capturing market share since launching the Joybook range is attributed to the products stylish design characteristics, and the multi-media and entertainment options they offer. Other notebook vendors who have noted the public's reaction to BenQ's marketing techniques, are now imitating their strategy, according to executives at the group.
"Since launching in the Middle East just over one year ago, BenQ has made significant inroads into the notebook market across the region," said Robert Dung, managing director, BenQ Middle East. "We have steadily added to our range providing the most attractive features demand by today's consumers.
"A one-size-fits-all approach to notebooks no longer applies in the Middle East, with customers considering, practicality, excitability and affordability when choosing a PC. Looking at the innovations and developments BenQ has brought to the market, we are increasingly seeing other competitors follow suit in our design and marketing trends," he added.
As part of an aggressive product launch plan, BenQ has also announced the Middle East availability of the Joybook 7000. The slim line PC, weighing only 1.95kg, has a 14" wide-screen LCD - a world first.
It also has enhanced software applications including the Qmedia center for multimedia entertainment, Qmusic for enjoying music and Qcamera for photo and film editing. The new Qpower application automatically selects the optimal power settings for more efficient battery use.
The Joybook 7000 has an Intel Centrino Dothan CPU, 200 nits brightness, offering users a 33 percent brighter viewing experience than other laptops on the market, and a 6MB ATI Radeon chipset, providing an enhanced gaming experience.
"From research BenQ has conducted, one of the key factors consumers look for when choosing a notebook PC is screen size," said Dung. "For gaming purposes or presenting columns of figures, wide-screen technology is a major factor for consumers."
The Joybook 7000 has a no latch design, allowing for enhanced ease of use, and comes with an embedded microphone with noise cancellation technology for recording voice memos.
"The Joybook 7000 demonstrates BenQ's commitment to bringing the latest and most advanced technology to the Middle East. Where we lead, others follow," said Dung.
