New scaleable high definition, rich media solution to reduce cost and increase team efficiency
Dubai, United Arab Emirates, 19 September, 2007: FVC, a leading IT services company and the authorised value-added distributor in the Middle East and North Africa for Polycom, has today announced an agreement with British American Tobacco (BAT) to deploy Polycom's HDX 9000 High Definition video conferencing solution across 11 offices across two of its Areas; the Middle East & Caucasus and North Africa. The countries covered under the agreement include the UAE, Jordan, Lebanon, Yemen, Algeria, Georgia, Azerbaijan and Egypt. The letter of intent was signed on the last day of GITEX.
"FVC was the right partner to deliver the most optimum solution with the new Polycom HDX high definition video conferencing packages at a regional level across all our offices in two areas," said Mohammed Pharaon, Customer Service Manager Middle East, Caucasus and North Africa for BAT. "BAT is globally deploying video conferencing solutions to increase communications and reduce travel costs. We evaluated various solutions on offer at Polycom and decided that the future is in HDX not only because of its high definition but because of its scalability."
"We are very pleased to be selected by BAT to deploy the new high definition solutions from Polycom," said K.S. Parag, regional director, FVC.
FVC plans to complete the project by the end of November 2007.
The Polycom HDX solutions are based on the Polycom UltimateHD architecture, the foundation for the industry's only integrated and complete HD video collaboration offering that includes video systems, video multipoint control units (MCU), HD recording, streaming and playback systems (for both video and content), HD video content management, related HD services, and integrated Polycom HD Voice endpoints. The Polycom UltimateHD architecture gives customers the quality, scalability, backwards compatibility and end-to-end integration they require.
