The Dubai Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM) organized a mock Bahrain Wedding Ceremony at the Heritage Village complex in Al Shindagha as part of its Herritage and Cultural programmes for the Dubai Shopping Festival (DSF 2006-2007).
Mr. Nasser Juma Bin Sulaiman, DTCM Executive Events and Programme Coordinator, said: "Mock wedding ceremonies have been very popular with the public and this year we are retuning with the best representation."
Bahrain wedding ceremony enactment was part of the Heritage Wedding shows organized to highlight the traditions and customs associated with wedding ceremonies among different Arab tribes.
Throughout the 45-day DSF, visitors to the Al Shindagha heritage complex are being entertained with the best of culture and arts daily from 5 pm to 10 pm.
The programmes will be held daily at the Heritage Village, Diving Village, Sheikh Saeed Al Maktoum House, Sheikh Obaid & Juma bin Thani House (all in Al Shindagha area) and Hatta Heritage Village.
This year's festival have several new events, including Sarooq Al Hadid Exhibition, Dubai Neighbourhood, HCT Creation Exhibition, Al Razfah shows, Arabian Horse Exhibition, Marine Forum of the AGCC, Oasis of Water Games, and Camel Trial.
The other major attractions during the festival include Zayed - The Enduring Legacy exhibition, Al Siraj Exhibition, Heritage Touches Exhibition, Emirati Food Shows, Heritage Competitions, Handicrafts display, Traditional Cooking, and Theatre Shows by UAE Children.
The Al Shindagha heritage sites complex, located along the Dubai Creek promenade, and Hatta Heritage Village have been very popular among the residents and visitors of Dubai and the events during the DSF bring hordes of visitors to the venues.
