Ministry of Culture - Tourism Sector prepares for major event in Berlin
Manama: 4th March 2012
A delegation from the Ministry of Culture's Tourism Sector, led by Mrs. Nada Ahmed Yaseen, Assistant Undersecretary, recently organized a briefing for exhibitors taking part on the Bahrain Pavillion at the prestigious business travel exhibition, ITB in Berlin from March 7th to 11th.
The briefing provided a platform for finalization of plans for the event, and facilitated participants' understanding of the tourism initiatives being undertaken in the Kingdom of Bahrain during the year. ITB Berlin is B2B platform where trade visitors have an excellent opportunity to exchange skills, information and experiences and is an ideal forum to promote the tourism sector and highlight what Bahrain has to offer. It is one of many events that Bahrain participates in internationally to promote Bahrain and share first hand a balanced view of the offerings the Kingdom has, and the opportunity for partnerships with tour operators and others. This year is the 18th time that Bahrain has participated in this event, and the delegation will leave for Germany in the coming days.
The Assistant Undersecretary highlighted the role being played by the Tourism Sector in promoting Bahrain as a destination for leisure and business visitors, and also outlined the ways in which the Ministry is supporting the industry in the country. In addition the Tourism Sector also organized a refresher tour of the main cultural and historical locations within the Kingdom of Bahrain for the exhibitors.
The briefing comes as part of the Tourism Sector's numerous efforts to strengthen ties with travel professionals and others in the industry, to stimulate growth and further develop tourism services in Bahrain.
