13 December 2012
In December 2012 and January 2013 the Bahrain Science Centre is celebrating 'Bahraini Innovation', the contributions that Bahrainis have made to science and technology.

One of Bahrain's inventors is Ebrahim Hameed, a qualified engineer who has been combining his expertise in engineering with this interest in horticulture since 1985. Ebrahim has invented a wide range of useful devices including Solar Power Collectors, Composting Drums and drip-irrigated planters in metal racks and plastic bottles that allow people who live in small apartments to grow flowers and vegetables in a confined space.

Ebrahim's inventions will be displayed in the Bahrain Science Centre in December and January, and he will also give a talk and hold a workshop in January during which he will teach others how to make simple indoor and outdoor gardens. As Ebrahim is very environmentally conscious, all his gardens use drip irrigation, which minimizes water loss due to evaporation.

Watch the Science Centre's website and Weekly Programme for full details of Ebrahim's forthcoming talk and workshop. Don't miss this opportunity to learn from a prominent Bahraini inventor how to make a simple, cost-effective garden.

The Bahrain Science Centre is located in Building 334, Road 109, Block 801, Riyadh Avenue, Isa Town, Kingdom of Bahrain and can be contacted on 17686466.
