BAE Systems Regional Aircraft announced today it has sold an RJ100 Avro Business Jet to the Amiri Flight of Abu Dhabi.

The aircraft is a late model Avro RJ100 and it will join the existing VIP RJ70 operated by the Amiri Flight.

BAE Systems has also agreed to buy back the executive charter-configured Avro RJ85 owned by the Amiri Flight and which is operated under management by Royal Jet.

Delivery of the RJ100 to the Amiri Flight will take place in April and co-incident with this BAE Systems Regional Aircraft will also take delivery of the RJ85 which will join its portfolio of aircraft and be offered for sale or lease.

This latest success for the Avro Business Jet underlines the aircraft's popularity within the GCC countries, where, in addition to Abu Dhabi, it is also service with the Bahrain Defence Force (two RJ85s and one RJ100) and Dubai Air Wing (two RJ85s).

Over the past twelve months the pace of market success for the Avro Business jet has accelerated with seven aircraft placed into the market in various corporate/VIP configurations. These recent commitments by governments, high net-worth individuals, companies and charter organisations, means that there are now around 25 Avro Business Jets either in service or under conversion for this market.
