Danway Emirates has successfully completed its largest single installation of retail scales in the UAE since it was appointed authorised distributor for the United Kingdom-based Avery Berkel.
The Avery Berkel IM500 electronic hanging scale was chosen by the Abu Dhabi Fishermen Cooperative Society to equip their huge new fish market, recently opened at Mushriff Mall in Abu Dhabi.
The huge installation includes a total of 60 Avery Berkel IM500 scales, all fitted with Wi-Fi units allowing them to communicate with the centrally managed computer, ensuring all pricing, item descriptions and labels are accurate as customers buy.
The installation comes ahead of a tough bidding process, and is testament to Danway's work to increase Avery Berkel's presence in the UAE, a focus for the global brand.
The fish market in the Mushriff Mall in Abu Dhabi, features 60 hanging versions of the successful IM series of scales, each suspended from the ceiling, designed for use in wet areas such as fishmongers or where wash-down is frequent; keeping the weighing elements and displays well clear of spray.
