Autodesk hosts customer seminar and strengthens its presence in the region with the opening of a new office in KSA
Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia- 4th October 2010- Autodesk, a leader in 3D design, architecture, manufacturing, engineering, and entertainment software, is expanding its presence in the Middle East with the opening of its office in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Autodesk has also addressed the design challenges faced by the architecture, engineering and construction (AEC) industries in the region during its customer seminar in KSA on 4th October 2010. The seminar is designed to give Autodesk's customers the information and training they require for comprehensive product knowledge. Autodesk has seen strong global sales growth of 124% year on year, and are utilizing their strong sales to invest into channel and customer development. At the event, Autodesk and its customers discussed developments in Building Information Modeling and Infrastructure Modeling, as well as the future growth of the Middle East's AEC industry and the drivers behind this growing demand.
As part of its strategy for expansion across key markets, Autodesk also announced the opening of its office in Riyadh. At present, more than 720 projects with a total budget of more than USD 430 billion are active in various phases across commercial, retail, education, healthcare, leisure, entertainment and residential sectors in KSA. According to Global Investment House, the real estate investments in the Kingdom touched USD 334 billion (SAR 1.2 trillion) in 2009, and are further estimated to reach USD 400 billion by 2010.

Saudi Arabia has active projects worth $283.8 billion, according to the data, while Kuwait is the third biggest market in the GCC with $184.8 billion projects. Autodesk is responding to market demands by educating its existing and potential customers about the latest technologies and their benefits.
