Sharjah, Monday, April 14, 2014- In tandem with its mission to provide a comprehensive, overall education experience driven by academic excellence, American University of Sharjah (AUS) has entered into an agreement with Pearson VUE, the computer-based testing (CBT) business of Pearson, to become a Pearson VUE Authorized Test Centre Select as of April 2014.

By becoming part of this network, the AUS Testing Center now offers enhanced security and monitoring services and accessible and secure testing to candidates as part of the Learning Evolution which Pearson is promoting in academic institutions across the globe. The Pearson VUE Authorised Test Centre Select network provides clients with the option of having their exams delivered in premier authorized test centers around the world.

According to Ali Shuhaimy, Vice Chancellor of Enrollment Management at AUS, said, "Becoming a Pearson VUE Authorised Test Centre Select will allow us to expand our offering and deliver some of the world's most prominent certification exams. It's a privilege to be chosen by Pearson VUE to be a part of its Select test center network, and we look forward to delivering exams which aid career development and help to further increase the prestige of global test programs."

As a Pearson VUE Authorized Test Centre Select, AUS anticipates 750-1250 registrants annually for various tests, and allows the AUS Testing Center to offer professional and IT world recognized tests to engineering, medical, finance and business professionals, in addition to IT students, technicians and professionals.

Some of the professional tests that will be offered include Chartered Institute of Management and Accountants (CIMA), American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM), Professional Risk Manager International Association (PRIMIA). IT tests include Cisco, Oracle, Adobe, HP ExpertOne and Avaya.
