Aspire Zone Foundation has increased the facilities within its precinct by building a radio controlled car race track.

Developed in conjunction with the Qatar Remote Controlled Car Racing Group (QRCRG), the circuit features an off road track that is 350m long and 4m wide over an area of 1650 square meters.  It contains tight corners, sweeping arches and six jump sections.

The type of cars being used on the track are 1/8th scale buggy and each car is fitted with a computerized timing system.  Each lap takes between 45 - 60 seconds and cars can reach a top speed of approximately 60kph with an average speed of 30kph.

Mr. Abdulaziz Al-Mahmoud, Director General for Aspire Logistics, said: "Radio controlled car racing is extremely popular throughout the world and has a significant following in Qatar.  Aspire Zone, being the destination of various sports and games, is keen to add to its extensive option of activities and to provide the players and fans of this game an appropriate, equipped and up-to-standard track to organize their activities and races." He added "We are pleased to have the track as a distinguished addition to our list of international award-winning facilities."

The track which is currently being used by the QRCRG and will be will available for the club for competitions in the future.

An outdoor on-road track is currently in the planning stage.
