Wireless LAN and Remote Access Products Tested for Interoperability with Key Avaya IP Telephony and Messaging Solutions
Dubai, UAE, February 12, 2008 - Aruba Networks Inc. (NASDAQ: ARUN), a global leader in user-centric networks and secure mobility solutions, today announced that Avaya, a leading global provider of business communications applications, systems and services, has rated Aruba's Multi-Service Mobility Controllers and Wireless LAN Remote Access Points compliant with Avaya IP telephony and messaging solutions. Used in conjunction with Avaya IP telephones, Aruba Remote Access Points allow enterprises throughout the Middle East to extend communication and messaging capabilities to remote workers simply and securely, without the cost and complexity of VPN or router-based solutions.
"Avaya has a significant presence in the Middle East and is renowned for its expertise in the IP telephony and unified communications solutions market," said Khalid Ishruq Laban, Sales Director, Aruba Networks MENA. "Its compliance testing program is among the most demanding. We highly value interoperability testing programs as they improve the experience of both integrators and end users which is good news for all customers,"
"Being rated 'Avaya compatible' demonstrates our commitment to open, standards-based platforms, and will enable our channel partners to extract the greatest value from the combined Aruba and Avaya communications infrastructure," added Laban.
The Aruba solutions were tested for compatibility with the following Avaya products: Avaya Communication Manager 4.0 and 3.1.2 IP telephony software; Avaya Modular Messaging 3.1 for IP-based voice and fax messaging; Avaya Distributed Office 1.1.0 for branch office communications; Avaya 1600, 4600 and 9600 Series IP Telephones; and Avaya 3631, 3641 and 3645 Wireless IP Telephones.
Aruba's user-centric networks securely deliver the enterprise network to users by integrating adaptive WLANs, identity-based security, and application continuity services into a cohesive, high-performance system. Remote access solutions for teleworkers, and voice solutions that seamlessly blend Wi-Fi and cellular networks, provide unprecedented mobility for users while ensuring that security is always enforced. Used in conjunction with Avaya intelligent communications systems and software, an Aruba solution provides follow-me connectivity for voice, data, and video applications regardless of where the user roams or works.
Aruba Networks is a member of the Avaya DevConnect program, an initiative to develop, market and sell innovative third-party products that interoperate with Avaya technology and extend the value of a company's investment in its network. As a Platinum member of the program, Aruba is eligible to submit products for compatibility testing by the Avaya Solution Interoperability and Test Lab in Lincroft, N.J. There a team of Avaya engineers develops a comprehensive test plan for each application to verify whether it is Avaya compliant. Doing so ensures businesses can confidently add best-in-class capabilities to their network without having to replace their existing infrastructure, speeding deployment of new applications and reducing both network complexity and implementation costs.
"By offering compliance testing to the many innovative companies like Aruba Networks that are members of our DevConnect program, Avaya promotes fully interoperable solutions that help businesses unleash powerful new possibilities," said Eric Rossman, vice president, developer relations and technical alliances, Avaya. "They are able to use intelligent communications to connect employees and customers to information from wherever they work, over whatever device they have available, getting more out of their multivendor network and delivering new value to their bottom line."
