CEO Highlights the Benefits of a Single Unified Mobile Network Based On Secure, High Performance 802.11n Wireless LANs
Dubai, United Arab Emirates, November 11, 2007 - Aruba Networks, Inc. (NASDAQ: ARUN), a global leader in user-centric networks and secure mobility solutions, today announced that Dr. Dominic Orr, Aruba's president and CEO, is touring the Middle East to launch the region's first all-wireless workplace solutions based on a new generation of ultra high-performance Multi-Service Mobility Controllers and 802.11n Access Points. During customer and channel partner meetings throughout the GCC, Dr. Orr will discuss how the new products offer the speed of a wired network, the low total cost of ownership and adaptability of a wireless network, and the security and centralized management for which Aruba is well known. Used in conjunction Aruba's cellular-to-Wi-Fi fixed-mobile convergence (FMC) solution and secure remote access capabilities, the new products can be used to create a single unified mobile network.
"The education, hospitality, healthcare, petro-chemical, and government sectors throughout the Middle East could potentially reap enormous benefits by using Aruba's all-wireless 802.11n solutions instead of expensive copper data networks," said Dr. Orr. "We are at a technical crossroads where for the first time an all-wireless 802.11n network can rival the performance of a wired network. Customers now have a choice between the rigid infrastructure of a copper network and the flexibility offered by a secure wireless one. Given the Middle East's time management and traffic congestion challenges, and the economic trend towards a more mobile workforce, we believe that the productivity and cost savings afforded by the migration to an all-wireless network will make it the preferred option."
Aruba's centralized networking architecture is built to scale to accommodate very large multi-site networks without compromising performance. Additionally, the centralized design simplifies network management, reliably and uniformly enforces security policies, and enhances mobility across branch offices and remote users. Security and access policies are assigned to each user, a hallmark of Aruba's user-centric architecture, and these policies are enforced regardless of how or from where the user accesses the network. Remote access points offer a simple means of securely connecting remote users and sites without having to manage clients, making them ideally suited for telecommuter and business-continuity applications.
"Networking is no longer wireless versus wires: given the capabilities and complexities of forthcoming technologies, voice, data and video must be examined holistically," said Michael King, Research Director at Gartner, Inc. "The best solution will be one that lays the foundation for future network-based applications, while utilizing existing clients and infrastructure to access today's applications. This type of forward-looking, application-based thinking will enable users to leverage what they've already installed and adopt 802.11n at a pace that best suits them."
"Our new products make it possible to deliver unified mobile applications that conventional wired and wireless networks simply cannot adequately tackle due to architectural, integration, security, or performance limitations," said Khalid Ishruq Laban, VP of Aruba MEA. "These applications include, among others, high security all-wireless workplaces with no cabling, call management between Wi-Fi and cellular networks, and securely extending the enterprise network to remote users without VPNs or managed clients. Unified mobile networks will support more applications, require less hardware, and have lower life-cycle costs than legacy solutions, offering lower costs today and a platform on which applications can be built in the future."

About Aruba Networks, Inc.
Aruba securely delivers the enterprise network to users, wherever they work or roam, with user-centric networks that significantly expand the reach of traditional port-centric networks. User-centric networks integrate adaptive WLANs, identity-based security, and application continuity services into a cohesive, high-performance system that can be easily deployed as an overlay on top of existing network infrastructure. Adaptive WLANs deliver high-performance, follow-me connectivity so users are always within reach of mission-critical information. Identity-based security associates access policies with users, not ports, to enable follow-me security that is enforced regardless of access method or location. Application continuity services enable follow-me applications that can be seamlessly accessed across WLAN and cellular networks. The cost, convenience, and security benefits of user-centric networks are fundamentally changing how and where we work. Listed on the NASDAQ and Russell 2000® Index, Aruba is based in Sunnyvale, California, and has operations throughout the Americas, Europe, Middle East, and Asia Pacific regions.
