Part of Group-wide Endeavour to Implement Global Best Practices

Dubai: 17 February, 2009 - Arab Media Group (AMG), the largest grouping of media brands in the GCC region, today announced its Projects Department has become the first within the organization to receive the ISO:9001 2000 certification.

The UKAS 'Certificate of Quality Management System for Project Management Design and Build' was awarded to AMG-Projects Department in recognition of its commitment to provide enhanced customer services and adopt global best practices.

The AMG initiative to adopt internationally endorsed best practices was launched several months ago.

Ali Al Yousuf, COO of AMG-Projects Department, said: "The ISO certification demonstrates our keenness to offer services that match global standards. This milestone is only the first step in a group-wide drive to demonstrate Arab Media Group's ability to remain on par with global organizations in customer service.

"We believe the international recognition will motivate us to strengthen our service criteria while acting as an incentive to other departments within the AMG umbrella to stay committed for achieving the ISO certification."

Founded in 2005, AMG owns a wide array of media properties, including ARN, a radio division that broadcasts across eight frequencies; Awraq Publishing, a publishing division that operates three daily newspapers and several magazines; Done Events, an events company; Shoof Advertising, an outdoor advertising company; Tawseel, an independent distribution company; and Masar, a printing house.
