Chairman and CEO of the Aqaba Development Corporation (ADC) Imad Fakhoury, and Director General of Jordan Customs and Vice Chairman of ADC Alaa Batayneh paid a visit to Aqaba Container Terminal (ACT) where they reviewed the terminal's operations.

ACT CEO Patricio Junior received the visitors accompanied by Firas Al-Dabbas General Manager of National Customs in Aqaba, taking them through a tour inside the terminal where he explained the company's processes. Junior briefed the visitors on the high-standard inspection procedures that containers have to go through to make sure handling is in the right way. He also clarified the mutual responsibilities of both ACT and Jordan Customs regarding such inspection measures.

'This visit allowed to us to showcase the latest achievements of ACT to representatives of leading institutions, underlying the importance of the terminal as a national asset. The visitors gone through most of the terminal's procedures, observing the level of exciting development ACT has accomplished,' Junior commented on the visit.

Aqaba Container Terminal:
Aqaba Container Terminal Pvt Co. (ACT) is the only Jordanian container terminal. It is a major gateway for the Jordanian market, as well as for transit cargo moving to and from other countries in the region. In 2006 a 25 years JV contract was signed between Aqaba Development Corporation (ADC) and APM Terminals International, agreeing that the new ACT Pvt Company will operate, manage and market ACT.

ACT is committed to providing a world class facility for its customers, and continuously looks for further enhancements and developments. This has already resulted in a number of upgrades to the facility and its equipment.
