The Dubai-based major glass processor spends AED 20 million to upgrade facilities to comply with the requirements of the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED).
DUBAI (United Arab Emirates): Alumco LLC, a specialized aluminium façade contractor and major glass processor, has strengthened its operations in the region by embracing the green building concept and expanding their engineering division to offer customers across the industry spectrum a ceaseless stream of high-end, quality service.

In the new vibrant atmosphere, Alumco's engineers and designers have dedicated themselves to developing more challenging façade as a response to the stringent architectural façade demands in the market and to comply with the requirements of the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED), in line with Dubai's commitment to advance the green building concept.
The engineering division, a vital arm of the fast growing company in the Middle East, is housed in a two-storey building that boasts of two spacious and state-of-the-art workshops where more than 80 designers will give shape and structure to the business requirements of the company.
Alumco has spent a total of AED 20 million as part of their upgrading of facilities. The new unitized curtain wall production line has the capacity to produce 250'000 m2 of unitized curtain wall per year and this has bolstered Alumco's annual production capacity to 500'000m2 of curtain wall.
Mr. Barakat added: "I believe that the expansion will go a long way to improve the interaction between various sub-departments such as System Development, Structural Engineering, Shop Drawings, Fabrication Drawings, and CAD / CAM as they are all under one roof now. We will continue to come up with innovations in technology and equipment and apply them in our ceaseless efforts to meet the recurring challenges."
The engineering division also boasts of a spacious conference room with a sleek touch to it and there are other amenities in addition to the reception and storage rooms.
