UUM delegates tour ALHOSN facilities, meet key university figures

ALHOSN University, a leading Abu Dhabi-based university dedicated to high-quality, value-based education, recently received a delegation from Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM), one of Malaysia's top universities, for the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the two institutions.

Under the terms of the cooperative agreement, ALHOSN and UUM will embark on research partnerships as well as student and faculty exchanges. The MoU reflects ALHOSN's commitment to collaborating with leading universities around the world in line with its philosophy of 'global knowledge with local vision.' During the visit, ALHOSN leadership presented the university's visions and goals and engaged in an extensive discussion of the drafted MoU.

The UUM delegates included Prof. Mohamed Mustafa Ishak, Vice Chancellor of UUM, Prof. Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki, Head of Research Affairs, Prof Asmadi Mohamed Naim, Dean of the Islamic Business School, Mr. Mohd Khairy Mukhtaruddin, Special Officer to the Vice Chancellor, and Mr. Shusgilil Azam Bin Shuib, the Regional Director of the Dubai-based Center, Education Malaysia, who were given a comprehensive tour of the university. They were also briefed on  ALHOSN University's programs and academic offerings by  Prof. Abdul Rahim Sabouni, Vice Chancellor and CEO, Prof. Raymont Tennant, Provost,  Prof. Ahmad Zohdi, Dean of the Faculty of Business, and Dr. Surajit Chakravarty, Provost's Advisor on External Affairs and Outreach

"Through cooperative agreements with outstanding universities such as UUM, we are able to expand our academic knowledge, hone the skills of our students, faculty and staff, and provide a global aspect to our programs. We look forward to a long and productive collaboration with UUM."

Located in Malaysia's northern region, Universiti Utara Malaysia covers a sprawling 1,061-hectare campus. It was established primarily to serve as a model for management education in the country. The ISO 9002-certified university houses one of Malaysia's largest collections of management-related educational materials.

Named after Abu Dhabi's historic ALHOSN Palace, ALHOSN University was founded in 2005 by the Abu Dhabi Holding Company in response to growing local demand for high-quality, value-based educational institutions. It currently offers 12 undergraduate and 7 graduate programs under the Faculties of Engineering and Applied Sciences, Business, and Arts and Social Sciences. ALHOSN accepts students of all nationalities and also accommodates youths with special needs. All its programs are accredited by the UAE Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.
