Abu Dhabi: Alef Education, a leading K-12 education technology company, launched the “Excellence Awards for Distance Learning” in the United Arab Emirates to recognize and reward public and private schools here that are excelling at distance teaching and learning practices using the award-winning Alef Platform.

Since the switch to distance learning in UAE on March 22nd this year, the adoption of the innovative Alef Platform has increased significantly and in some schools, utilization of the solution by students has reached 100%. There has been healthy competition among schools to get higher utilization rates and Alef Education wants to continue promoting and encouraging the distance learning amongst all schools.

The awards are targeted at boosting students’ morale and learning, which is a top priority for Alef Education. Since its establishment, Alef Education has worked towards utilizing the latest technology to support the educational system in the UAE. Today, more than 150 schools in the UAE have fully succeeded in implementing distance learning via the Alef Platform.

While distance learning tools are used to facilitate audiovisual communication and organize meetings from a distance, online digital learning platforms like the Alef Platform include educational content that is made available for students and teachers to learn anytime and anywhere.

This makes it even more relevant and useful in today’s context.

More details about the Alef Platform:

First: The comprehensive and interactive educational content. The Alef Platform is enriched with diverse education content that speaks to all learning styles. Each lesson is divided into bite-size learning content followed by short assessment activities that students participate in to make progress and move to the next lesson.

Second: The Alef Platform provides performance data for each student, including the scores, time spent on each lesson, number of attempts at each activity as well as the challenges that the student might face in each lesson. This data is made available for the teachers, school leaders and the Ministry of Education.

Third: The Alef Platform relies on Artificial intelligence, fed with data student performance, to learn about the difficulties that each student faces and help them with the needed training materials and explanatory videos that help the student gain the missing skills that caused their lack of understanding of the material.

The Alef Platform is the ideal learning platform for distance learning in the UAE, as it provides students with the curriculum of the UAE Ministry of Education for all the core subjects for Grades 5 to 9.
