Sharjah- 26 June 2011 - Al Qasba is among the top 10 most authentic Arab brands according to consumers who took part in Zaman's 100 Most Authentic Arab Brands campaign, which aimed to put the spotlight on Arab brands that have transitioned from ideas to success stories across the global platform. After more than 8000 votes were cast in over 100 countries, Al Qasba was proudly unveiled in the number eight spot.
According to Zaman, a Dubai-based branding consultancy, consumers are drawn to brands that have an engaging identity and a genuine commitment to deliver that promise. In the case of Al Qasba, it states: "Where some destination brands might struggle to cater to such diverse guest profiles, business executives to families, the quality of voter response illustrates that Al Qasba's continues to deliver on its brand promise to always 'inspire' its guests."
While the list contains quite a diverse variety of brands - Animals of Lebanon, Al Arabiya News Channel and Soura was first, second and third, respectively - Al Qasba is the only destination brand among the Top 10.
Says Hazem Sawaf, Marketing Communication Director at Al Qasba: 'This is a great triumph for Al Qasba, where our vision since inception has been to become a premier destination providing a unique mix of high quality dining, entertainment, cultural events and lucrative business opportunities in the UAE.
"Not only does this ranking prove that Al Qasba is indeed one of the UAE's most prominent landmarks, but also that we are succeeding in our objectives of creating a tourist, cultural, and entertainment destination that is able to draw vast numbers of visitors due to the diversity of its unique attractions and activities."
According to statistics released by the Al Qasba Development Authority, Al Qasba registered a steady increase in the number of visitors over the past few years, recording over 1.5 million in 2009, and seeing an increase of 10 per cent to 1,650 million visitors in 2010. This number is expected to increase to two million visitors by the end of 2011.
