Doha, Qatar: Al Kass Sports Channel today continued to expand their coverage of Qatar Stars Leagues matches by launching an English language studio.
Designed to support the growth of the QSL, the English language studio featured matches between defending champions Lekhwiya against Al Jaish and Um Slal versus Al Rayyan.
"The Qatar Stars League continues to attract more interest from English speaking fans, therefore we are delighted to commence an English language studio," said Al Kass General Manager Essa Bin Abdullah Al Hitmi.
"Having won the right to host the 2022 FIFA World Cup, international interest in the Qatar Stars League continues to grow. To support the international promotion of the league it is important to provide coverage of matches in English."
The coverage is hosted by Rhodri Williams, who has a wealth of experience presenting football and other sports on some of the world's major sports channels.
Williams is joined by former England, Manchester United and Leeds United star Lee Sharpe who will provide expert analysis.
Also featuring in the studio is former Marseille and Sunderland defender Chris Makin and Nicky Summerbee, who spent 16 years playing in the top leagues of England including 131 matches with Manchester City.
The English language studio is available on Al Kass +1 and will continue throughout the season.
The initiative continues Al Kass' commitment to providing English language services for international viewers following the successful coverage of the Al Kass U-17 International Cup which was held in Doha in January.
