Al Futtaim Technologies, an Al Futtaim Group business unit, has announced the introduction of m-Trak, a web-based tracking system with the ability to track fleet of vehicles and produce online alerts to fleet managers.

m-Track by MobiApps, a leading provider of real-time fleet management solutions for small to large transportation and logistics companies, allows managers to log in from any PC to access real-time information on a specific vehicle or group of vehicles.

Based on Global Positioning System (GPS) and GSM technology, the system generates critical information through GPS/GSM/GPRS, such as speeding, unauthorized stoppages and emergency SOS alerts. Fleet managers can log in from any PC to the secure m-Trak web application and access real- time reports, analyze data and replay vehicle routes for efficient fleet management, even in harsh vehicle environments.

"m-Trak combines internet technology, GPS and wireless terrestrial networks such as GSM/GPRS into an affordable fleet tracking and monitoring system, which will revolutionise the ability of fleet owners to track and manage their fleets," said Mr. Vishesh Bhatia, Group Director (Electronics), Al Futtaim Group. "We are delighted to be launching m-Trak in the GCC. The system will enhance operations through mapping and reports generated in a unique way," he added.

Apart from ease of use, convenience and superior value in terms of improved efficiency, m-Trak can be integrated with other transportation and logistics applications. By combining the m-Trak transceiver with the m-Trak application, managers can enhance their operations with map based tracking, remote device configuration and two-way voice and text communications.

"MobiApps satellite transceiver, GPS and terrestrial wireless chipset technologies provide low power, low cost, ubiquitous and reliable global connectivity for a variety of asset tracking applications", said Sanjay Chakrabarty, CEO, MobiApps. "The MobiApps - Al Futtaim partnership will substantially enhance deployment of fleet management systems and telematics in the GCC region. The partnership will build on Al-Futtaim's expertise in delivering comprehensive solutions in the GCC area and MobiApps focused competencies in Wireless and Satellite communications. The partnership will be able to provide value to customers through applications developed in our global technology centers", he added.
