To integrate interactive e-learning into its classroom curricula
May 26, 2012 Amman - In a pioneering step aiming at automating and developing classroom curricula, Al-Ahliyya Amman University signed a cooperation agreement with eLearment upon which the Arab leading provider of e-learning systems and solutions will provide the university with well-developed interactive e-learning systems to be integrated into its educational infrastructures.
The agreement which was signed by the university's president, Prof. Dr. Sadeq Hamed, and eLearment's CEO, Ashraf Nairoukh, seeks to deploy eLearment's latest and most innovative interactive techniques and solutions, providing the teachers and students at the university with multimedia presentation tools and sophisticated means to enhance educational delivery and facilitate learners' understanding of different pedagogical concepts.
In his comment, Prof. Dr. Hamed said: "This move comes in line with our endeavors to activate the role of the university's Hourani E-Learning Center, the first facility of its kind in the nation, in the processes of teaching and learning in all majors available in the university."
"Our administration is keen to make the best use of the newest virtual learning techniques to take our education programs to the next level. Therefore, we were the first university in the Arab world to adopt eLearment's techniques and solutions whose highly integrated tools offer user-friendly features, have the ability to conduct performance-based assessment, and provide students with relevant details and information that can help them comprehend educational concepts better," Prof. Dr. Hamed pointed out.
"What distinguishes eLearment's learning systems is their capability to address our vision which focuses on developing our teaching methods while leveraging the e-learning medium to keep our courses up-to-date," he added.
For his part, Nairoukh praised this initiative taken by Amman University, saying: "We welcome this opportunity to work with a big and renowned Jordanian educational establishment in the size of Al-Ahliyya Amman University. Given the fact that the system is uniquely loaded with highly intelligent interactive tools to meet students' needs and requirements, we aspire to make the system a destination of choice for the various schools and universities across the kingdom."
"We devoted our programming capabilities and field expertise to seamlessly incorporate the most recent virtual technologies into existing pedagogical infrastructures within the various educational establishments, especially that our interactive tools and resources are compatible with all e-learning environments available at schools and universities," Nairoukh added.
Nairoukh also pointed out that the user can directly alter the electronically displayed material at any time, a feature which is not available in other similar systems. In addition, the tool has the advantage of evaluating students' proficiency in a particular subject, thus helping them know the level of the course in which they should be placed.
According to Nairoukh, the system which enjoys a unique blend of features that satisfy the needs of educational infrastructures represents a precursor to a more modern perspective of teaching and learning.
