Ahlia University ( AU) , the first private university in Kingdom, and Bahrain Institute of Technology (BIT), a subsidiary of Bahrain Development Bank (BDB) have entered into a strategic alliance, to deliver the professional IT programs for the AU students as part of their graduate studies.
The agreement was signed recently at AU's campus in Manama by Professor Abdulla Al Hawaj, AU's President and Mr. Nidal Al Awjan, CEO of Bahrain Development Bank. The signing ceremony was attended by Dr. Bakr Hassan, AU's VP for Planning & Development and a number of officials from both Ahlia University and BIT.
Professor Al Hawaj said," This agreement comes to complement our efforts to qualify our students to join the labour market immediately after graduation,". He added that the AU-BIT agreement will offer our students an excellent opportunity to earn certified internationally recognized qualifications in the rapidly developed IT industry, in addition to the prestigious Bachelor's degree from Ahlia University.
BIT with their vendor certified instructors will teach 18 subjects that have been tailored and designed to fit into the credit system of AU. These subjects will lead to four major certifications like MCSE, MCTS, CCNA and OCP that a student can achieve by taking up additional online exams.
The state of the art technology facilities of both AU and, BIT, will provide excellent hands on skills to Bahraini students which will make them technology ready and increase their employment prospects multifold.
