First premium programme created to improve driver skills for increased safety on the roads
Dubai, UAE. Over 50 BMW customers and potential customers experienced the sheer driving pleasure of the AGMC BMW Driver Training programme on Saturday the 25th of November 2006 at the Dubai Autodrome.
AGMC, the exclusive importer for BMW, MINI and Rolls-Royce in Dubai, Sharjah and the Northern Emirates, is the first to introduce this premium programme aimed at improving driver skills and increasing safety on local roads.
"The AGMC Driver Training Day is a complete theoretical and practical driving instruction event, providing drivers with the chance to test their skills in a safe environment," said Stathis I Stathis, General Manager, AGMC.
"It's also an opportunity for them to gain valuable insight into the groundbreaking innovations, exceptional dynamism, agility and safety of premium BMW vehicles."
Instructors from Dubai Autodrome conducted the 3 series driver training, as well as Ride & Drive activities utilizing BMW 130i, the BMW 335i Coupe and BMW 650i vehicles. Customers were also lucky enough to experience fine motoring at its best with the BMW M5 and BMW ALPINA B5.
Sean Stevens Project Manager / Senior Instructor from Dubai Autodrome Race School explained the programme had been put together to help raise awareness for customers on the unique driving and dynamic potential of their vehicles, and to ensure they maximize their premium driving experience.
"During the training day we shared with the customers some invaluable tips on maneuvering skills and how to react in critical driving situations," said Stevens.
"There are some fundamental basics drivers can learn to increase their safety behind the wheel of their BMW - we helped them understand the true braking force of the vehicle, how to brake and avoid unforeseen situations successfully and how to get the most of the BMW 3 Series Antilock-Breaking System (ABS)."
All over the world BMW is famous for premium automobiles, fascinating the most demanding drivers with uncompromising dynamism, comfort and safety. In order to preserve the highest level of driving pleasure, BMW equips its automobiles with the highest standard of active and passive safety features.
Features such as BMW's Active Steering and Dynamic Stability Control contribute to BMW's leadership in driving dynamics, providing drivers with increased steering control and safety on the roads.
The Runflat Tyres innovation again demonstrates BMW's pioneering role in increasing active safety on the roads while maintaining excellent driving performance, enabling drivers to continue for up to 250 kilometres after a puncture at a speed of up to 80km/h.
Peter Ihde, National Sales and Marketing Manager for AGMC said: "The AGMC BMW Driver Training at the Dubai Autodrome was a huge success with our customers, who valued the opportunity to experience the true power and capabilities of their vehicles in a controlled and fun environment.
"We will be holding BMW Driver Training programmes on a regular basis, to further underline AGMC's commitment to providing premium customer service and ensuring our customers get the most out of their ultimate driving machines."
