Paying a visit to IKCO, Mauritanian president submitted purchase order for 500 Samand passenger cars and 250 buses.

Mohamed Ould Abdel Aziz, who was heading a high-ranking political and economic delegation, accompanied by Mauritania's Foreign Minister and Finance Minister in this visit said, "It is an honor for me to visit IKCO; Islamic countries should take a good advantage of Iran's modern technology and industrial capabilities."

Najmeddin, IKCO CEO, welcomed Mauritanian president's demand and announced IKCO's readiness to supplyl Mauritania's market needs. Referring to IKCO's capabilities in designing and producing gasoline and diesel vehicles in different models and prices, Najmeddin called the visit as the start point of a deep and broad cooperation in the automotive sector between Iran and Mauritania.

Najmeddin said that IKCO is the biggest manufacturer of passenger and commercial vehicles in the Middle East and added, "IKCO has established production plants in Azerbaijan, Syria, Belarus, Egypt, Senegal and Venezuela and we hope to set up a close cooperation with Mauritania as well."

Algeria, Egypt and Senegal are the African countries that have witnessed Samand march on their streets so far. Mauritania, a neighboring country of Senegal and Algeria, is located in the northwest of Africa. The quality and the fair price of IKCO products in these countries have shaken Nouakchott, demanding these products.

It is noteworthy that the parliament speaker of South Africa paid visit to IKCO a day earlier. He too, asked for IKCO products. During the visit, he referred to the advanced process of car production in this company and added, "Regarding the price and quality, Iranian cars can compete the existing ones in the South African market. If IKCO produces RHD (Right Hand Drive) vehicles, we will welcome them in our country."
