Dubai- October 17, 2003

Advanced German Technology AGT, Europe and Germany’s first IT security solution provider focusing on the Middle East, will introduce its latest security solutions in the regional market during the five-day Gitex technology show starting on Sunday.

At the German Pavilion in hall 8, AGT will launch a group of its newest security solutions designed to assist both commercial and governmental organizations in the region in meeting increasingly serious security challenges that are a threat to individual, organizational and economic well being.  “Our solutions were developed in partnership with the largest European companies under the authorisation of the German Authority for Data Security, which serves government departments, ministries and the army, explained Anas Chbib AGT Managing Director.

Among the products AGT distributes, and will be included in the launch at Gitex is Finnish based, antivirus solutions provider F-secure’s first personal firewall, antivirus, and intrusion detection system (IDS) on one platform. AGT will integrate F-secure’s solutions into its own solution packages. “No one can be guaranteed 100 percent secure data protection. However, with AGT technology, The customer is brought most nearly to that point,” said Chbib.

AGT’s partner Stonesoft, will launch its leading edge and new to the market firewall system. To consolidate its presence in the Middle East, Stonesoft has recently set up offices in Dubai and Tunisia.

To provide maximum security to clients based on open source, the VPN Sinabox was developed under the German Authority For Data Security for German government departments, and the military. “This solution can be configured by AGT to suit the needs of Middle East clients.”

Based in Germany and Bahrain, AGT was founded in April 2002 to provide state-of-the-art German and European security technology to Middle East customers.

Today, after having successfully completed numerous projects in the Middle East, the entire AGT staff still devotes its entire time and effort into the transfer of technological advances and breakthroughs to its valued customers.

Expenditure on IT security and antivirus solutions is expected to increase further due to the 20 percent rise in the hacking and virus risk facing the world and the Middle East.
