Executive Committee of the Executive Council approves manual of institutional digital maturity of e-services for Abu Dhabi's government

Abu Dhabi, UAE – Abu Dhabi Systems and Information Centre (ADSIC), the government entity responsible for the development of the local ICT agenda and operational framework, launched the second phase of the Abu Dhabi government’s Institutional Digital Maturity Assessment Project. The launch came on the sidelines of a recent series of introductory workshops on the updated digital services database project, which were held in cooperation with 42 Abu Dhabi-based government entities at the Park Rotana hotel.

In addition, the Executive Committee of the Executive Council adopted the manual of institutional digital maturity of e-services for Abu Dhabi’s government, comprising of primary and secondary key performance indicators.

The project, which was developed by ADSIC in accordance with local and international best practices and listed under the strategic indicators of the Abu Dhabi Plan, will employ the adopted structure of digital maturity while measuring the level of maturity across government entities in Abu Dhabi through three main elements which are; enablers, transformation and impact.

The first phase of the project was originally launched in 2016 with the purpose of assessing 13 Abu Dhabi government entities. The results of the first phase assisted notably in identifying areas of strengths and weaknesses as per the maturity project’s three main elements, and past results also led to the development of recommendations to assist government entities in enhancing the maturity levels of the public services they provide.

Commenting on the occasion, Mr. Saeed Al Mansoori, Executive Director of Shared Government Services at ADSIC stated: “We consider the Abu Dhabi government’s Digital Maturity Assessment Project part of ADSIC’s efforts to achieve comprehensive e-transformation in line with the objectives laid out in the operational framework of the Abu Dhabi Plan.  One of these key objectives is to enhance the quality of government services and improve user-accessibility by deploying ICT to provide quick and efficient smart solutions.”

Al Mansoori added, “During the workshop, we managed to achieve good levels of awareness on the success factors pertaining to executing the second phase of the Abu Dhabi government’s Digital Maturity Assessment Project in the upcoming period, and ADISC will closely follow the rollout and progress of government entity e-transformation initiatives, within our supervisory and legislative role.”

Al Mansoori went on to say that ADSIC renews its commitment to working closely with its strategic partners in the Abu Dhabi government to deliver multi-channel innovative digital services and channels, standards and policies, while building the foundation for an ICT-Mature society.

The agenda of the introductory workshop on the updated digital services database project included a welcoming note and program overview, followed by a brief on the smart government platform project and the integrated government project for exchanging data. In addition, a detailed presentation on digital maturity mechanisms and adoption of a service target list was given by the head and digital transformation team, Director of Information Technology, Director of Customer Service and the Project Manager.
