Dubai, UAE - Zabeel Park played host to hundreds of people on Friday as ADNH Compass treated its workers from all over the UAE to an evening out and a change from their everyday lives in their working villages.
A large area was sealed off for the ADNH Compass workers who were offered a variety of activities and a tempting barbeque with a wide range of foods to suit all tastes. A DJ was also present, spinning the latest chart-toppers in both English and Hindi, and certainly getting the crowd involved.
When a reporter asked a labourer whether he was enjoying himself he said, "Yes, today I am 100 per cent happy." Journalists and photographers were able to interact with the workers and get an insight into the life of a manual worker in the region.
Another worker from the hospitality side of Abu Dhabi National Hotels proudly explained his job role as a Food and Beverage Supervisor, following a recent promotion and change of location.
"My ambition is to be a Food and Beverage Manager and I hope one day I will achieve this, I enjoy my work and am happy with my recent promotion," he said.
Representatives from ADNH Compass - including Compass Group PLC Managing Director, Andy Furlong, and ADNH Compass CEO, Alan Morgan-George were also on hand to answer queries from reporters.
"These types of events are essential as we like to celebrate success with our staff, we have a great team that delivers services consistently and we very much appreciate the work they do," said Andy Furlong.
"Village Life Fun Day is more than just a title, it's a means of improving our operating principles and we want to provide a good working environment for our staff. A motivated and well cared-for workforce is the ideal recipe for a win-win situation," he continued.
