Abu Dhabi City Municipality – 04 May 2017: The Abu Dhabi City Municipality has received a delegation from Umm Al Quwain Municipality as part of joint efforts to strengthen relations and share the best experiences, knowledge and successful practices in the interest of both parties. Discussions focused on internal excellence matters, especially the Excellent Employee category.
Abu Dhabi City Municipality, welcomed the delegation of Umm Al Quwain Municipality, praising such visits and highlighting their role in enhancing cooperation with municipalities of the UAE, sharing successful experiences, and conducting benchmarks to uplift performance and upgrade services.
During the meeting, the Municipality familiarized the visiting delegation with several issues including the Internal Excellence Award (Ertiqaa) launched in 2014 by the Municipality to uplift employees' abilities. The Municipality also highlighted the distinguished employee standards, employees performance assessment mechanism adopted by the Municipality and the mechanism for honoring Excellence Awards winners.
The Municipality informed to visiting delegation about the main objectives of the Excellence Award such as improving corporate work mechanisms, promoting competition among sectors and divisions, and broadening employees’ capacities. Discussions also covered grooming employees on the best administrative practices in service delivery, promoting the culture of excellence, and preparing well for Abu Dhabi Award for Excellence in Government Performance. One of the key deliverables of this Award is that it acts as a prelude to Abu Dhabi Award for Excellence in Government Performance.
The meeting also reviewed the Municipality's experience in diffusing the culture of excellence among employees and leaders, and its approach to achieving this objective in order to ensure the highest levels of satisfaction among customers, community members and strategic partners. Such objectives can be achieved through awareness workshops, newsletters, internal competitions, besides distributing the standards and requirements of excellence via display screens dotting customer service centers and offices. The Municipality also outlined the Award phases, honoring assessors, and the distinguished personnel.
The visiting delegation of Umm Al Quwain was impressed with the excellence methodology adopted by Abu Dhabi City Municipality and stressed its keenness to strengthen cooperation and experience sharing expertise & knowledge with Abu Dhabi City Municipality. The visiting delegation also showcased its reviewed its projects during the benchmark study to benefit from the best and most successful experiences.
