Abu Dhabi International Petroleum Exhibition and Conference (ADIPEC), one of the largest oil and gas exhibitions in the world, announced today that Abu Dhabi Company for Onshore Oil Operators' (ADCO) General Manager, Abdul Munim Saif Al Kindy, is to be the new chairman for the event conference taking place 1 - 4 November 2010 at Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC).
As the UAE's leading oil company and part of Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC), Al Kindy's involvement in the conference will further position ADIPEC as one of the most important and influential conferences around the world. Having worked in key oil and gas regions throughout the world, including the UAE, Europe and the United States, and as a Board Member of Esnaad and National Drilling Company (NDC) and a member of the Petroleum Institute Board of Governors, Al Kindy brings a wealth of knowledge and experience of the international energy market to his new role as conference chairman.
ADIPEC 2010's Technical Conference, which is organised in conjunction with the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE), will include a variety of topics under three main themes: Sub-surface, Surface and Vision. The new conference chairman will work closely with SPE and ADIPEC organizers dmg world media, to help shape the conference and bring some high level speakers to the event.
ADIPEC also has a brand new Event Director, Hifazat Ahmad, who is looking to strengthen further the exhibition as a must-attend event for the international audience. Ahmad said, "We are honoured to have Mr Al Kindy on board for next year. His unrivalled knowledge of the industry, both regionally and internationally, will be a great asset to the conference and the event as a whole.
"In my new role as event director I will be looking to increase awareness of ADIPEC in the international market, in addition to demonstrating the huge economic importance of the event for the region, having brought in $1.5 billion worth of business alone in 2008. ADIPEC has already established itself as an event that cannot be missed, and we are confident that 2010 will be the best yet."
Abdul Munim Saif Al Kindy added, "I am delighted to take up the role of Conference Chairman for ADIPEC 2010 and look forward to working with dmg world media to help shape and develop the conference. ADIPEC has helped to position the region as one of the most important geographies in the international energy industry and I look forward to being a part of that in 2010."
ADIPEC and SPE now jointly invite delegates to submit papers for consideration by the programme committee. Papers should be submitted no later than 1 April 2010 and must include an abstract of no more than 500 words on the scope and nature of work upon which the paper will be based. These may be submitted either online at www.spe.org/go/adipec/cfp or via email to formsdubai@spe.org, and must specify at least one primary category relevant to the paper topic.
