Abu Dhabi, 18 June 2013: Abu Dhabi Commercial Engineering Services (ADCE), a subsidiary of Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank (ADCB), today announced it has been awarded ISO certification for its Environmental practices and OHSAS certification for its Occupational Health and Safety practices. The receipt of ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 is testament of ADCE's successful implementation of integrated management systems. ADCE also announced that it successfully renewed its ISO 9001certification for quality management.
ADCE fulfilled the criteria for ISO certification during a two day audit, which was conducted by Lloyds Register Quality Assurance (LRQA), an ISO certifying body, on April 28th and 29th. The process involved a comprehensive review of ADCE's management activities and processes.
Abdulla Khalifa Al Suwaidi, Managing Director of ADCE said, "ADCE is committed to enhancing efficiency by implementing integrated management systems, to ensure we continually improve whilst delivering building design and construction property development services that exceed the customers' requirements. We are pleased with the outcome of the audit by LRQA and believe our success will inspire our peers to adopt practices required to achieve certification."
ADCE is the first ADCB subsidiary to receive this accolade, which can be attributed to its successful implementation of a fully integrated management system that includes management of its quality, health, safety and environmental procedures. The integrated system ensures that ADCE maintains and improves quality processes, safeguards employees, clients and partners and enactment of environmental responses to prevent pollution and preserve the environment.
ADCE took the initiative to sign up for the voluntary certification scheme to enhance its sustainability and promote sustainable and safe design and construction operations.
International Standards Organisation (ISO) is a developer of international best-practice standards, which organisations may voluntarily adhere to IS0 9001 is the internationally recognised quality management system standard and ISO 14001 sets the standard for environmental quality management systems. OHSAS is the international specification for occupational health and safety management systems.
