Abu Dhabi, 1st April 2014 - Abu Dhabi Autonomous Systems Investments (ADASI), a provider of autonomous systems for air, land and sea use and a subsidiary of Tawazun Holding, has been selected by the Swiss-owned Unmanned Systems Group (UMS) as its exclusive regional center for its authorised Intelligence, Surveillance & Reconnaissance training courses.

The agreement was signed today on the sidelines of the International Exhibition for Security and National Resilience (ISNR 2014) by Ali Al Yafie, CEO of ADASI, and Neil Hunter, CEO of UMS and in presence of Tawazun's CEO H.E. Saif Mohamed Al Hajeri.

The agreement paves the way for provision of UAE-based world-class training services to professionals from defense and homeland security agencies, as well as operators of commercial unmanned aerial systems.

These specialised ISR Training Courses are the first of their kind in the region, the ADASI Training Center will be ready to provide the courses to its regional customers by Q4 of 2014. The ISR Course will offer Fundamental, Practitioner and Advanced courses for military and security personnel and ISR commanders on ISR tactics and integration. The courses will be conducted by expert instructors in the fields.  The courses also have huge utility for the civilian market as the use of UAS as a cost-effective system of providing information continues to grow world-wide.

Following the agreement signing, Ali Al Yafie stated: "we are absolutely delighted to be working with UMS on this program. Our regional lead in the fields of unmanned aerial system and UMS's excellent reputation and outstanding expertise will make an ideal combination for the best-in-class training solutions for professionals."

"The launch of the center in Abu Dhabi fits perfectly with our objectives, stemming from the strategic investment strategy of Tawazun for building local industrial capabilities in autonomous systems and for contributing to the UAE's vision for comprehensive development and economic diversification," he added.

Neil Hunter, UMS CEO went on to say, "I would likewise like to say how excited UMS is to be working closely with ADASI in providing ISR training.  This agreement will provide customers with opportunity to get the very best from their autonomous systems by offering wider and varied training packages that focus on getting the maximum value from their equipment and personnel.  It makes for a compelling mix and UMS is delighted to be part of this innovative development.
