Global IT Leader teams up with Jebel Ali-based distributor for Regional Distribution
Dubai, United Arab Emirates
Electronics and PC vendor giant Acer, a long-time proponent of the model of using channel partners rather than going direct to market, has today announced its latest partnership with MTC for distribution in Iraq.
"In our bid to enhance and augment our distribution in the region, Acer is committed to developing strong relationships with proven channel partners that have demonstrated and represent high levels of service and a long-term commitment to their partnerships," said Philip Ashkar, Director of Sales and Marketing, Acer Computer Middle East (Ltd).
MTC is a leading IT distribution company in the MENA region and has a new 50,000 square foot assembly line and facility in Jebel Ali Free Zone and distributes regionally, including items such as desktops, notebooks, LCD monitors and CRT monitors.
Houssam Mobeid, CEO of MTC commented: "We have a strong internal belief in the merits of great team work and from that comes an understanding that building partnerships is a key to our success. Acer is a key industry player and a clear leader as an IT brand in the region, so we are naturally pleased to have established this relationship."
Acer, which is ranked as one of the world's top five branded PC vendors, is actually ranked in the top two or three in most Middle East markets.
"Due to our business model of working closely with channel partners, Acer has achieved phenomenal growth in the region over the last five years and, as a top three player in the region we must emphasize the effectiveness and strength of our partners that help deliver that. We believe MTC will add another channel and create greater opportunities for mutual growth," added Ashkar.
ACER continues to grow and diversify across a wide spectrum of varying markets both in the wider Gulf and Middle East region. The company's integrated product line, which includes LCD TVs, digital projectors and cameras, as well as PCs and media centres, reflects an increased demand from Middle Eastern customers for latest in home and office technologies.
