The St. Regis Abu Dhabi on the Corniche set to open this August complementing The St. Regis Saadiyat Island Resort
Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates - Abu Dhabi will soon be the world's only city to have the honour of hosting two St. Regis hotels with the August 2013 debut of The St. Regis Abu Dhabi on the capital's Corniche. The St. Regis brand was unveiled in Abu Dhabi in December 2011 with the opening of The St. Regis Saadiyat Island Resort.
As the city continues to gain prominence as business and leisure destination, the opening of The St. Regis Abu Dhabi will strengthen the St. Regis brand's positioning as the hotel will mainly aim at corporate business, while the core focus for The St. Regis Saadiyat Island Resort, located on Saadiyat, will be on the leisure traveller.
"Having two St. Regis hotels in the same city only heightens our brand awareness," said Oliver Key, General Manager of The St. Regis Abu Dhabi. "The St. Regis Abu Dhabi will cater primarily to the needs of the corporate business traveller who requires convenience, comfort and a level of service that our brand is renowned for. However, given that the margin between business and leisure travel is quite often intertwined, our city centre beachfront location will also attract the active leisure traveller who wishes to discover the city, relax at our beach club and go shopping," he added.
Located in the recently opened Nation Towers, The St. Regis Abu Dhabi is currently undergoing final preparations as it readies to debut in August. The five-star establishment reflects the century-old legacy of the St. Regis brand with its residential style interiors and intricate Arabic details that communicate the heritage of Abu Dhabi.
The St. Regis Abu Dhabi hotel will feature a wide range of experiences with eight distinctive culinary, lounge and bar venues, from Rhodes 44 - a restaurant from famed Michelin-starred chef Gary Rhodes to The St. Regis Bar - following the tradition of the St. Regis brand's legendary New York hotel. The iconic feature will be its two-story Abu Dhabi Suite situated on the sky-bridge between the towers, soaring over 200 metres above the ground. The suite will enjoy a private entrance and elevator to the 48th floor, three bedrooms, kitchen, dining room, library, cinema and spa.
The St. Regis Saadiyat Island Resort, now open for over 15 months, has well positioned itself as the perfect getaway, whether for a short weekend or long stay. Beautifully located on the pristine sands of Saadiyat, the resort's interiors incorporate Mediterranean influences perfected with the St. Regis bespoke touch. Building on the city's growing popularity as a golf destination, the hotel has seen a significant increase in golf-related stays given its proximity to the Saadiyat Beach Golf Club, which was designed by golfing legend Gary Player. The St. Regis Saadiyat Island Resort was recently named the SPG Best Golf Getaway 2013.
Offering sweeping views of the turquoise ocean, the resort's leisure and recreational facilities range from a state-of-the-art gymnasium, four outdoor swimming pools and one indoor lap pool, a large spa with 12 treatments rooms and Sandcastle, a dedicated children's club. The resort, popular for its sea-view rooms and suites, will soon unveil its 2000 sqm. Royal Suite that is anticipated to be one of the largest in the region.
