Abu Dhabi, Wednesday 9 December 2009: Abu Dhabi Council for Economic Development (ADCED) and the Department of Economic Development (DED) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to further strengthen their collaboration and partnership.
ADCED and DED, in their continuous efforts to achieve the highest level of effectiveness in developing economic policy for Abu Dhabi, will facilitate the exchange of data, strategies, views, information and policies between the two organizations. In addition, they will conduct joint studies & research projects and also develop joint activities such as conferences, seminars, workshops and training courses. Representatives of both ADCED and DED will meet periodically to follow up, monitor and evaluate their joint programs and activities.
H.E Fahad Saeed Al Raqbani, Deputy Director of the Abu Dhabi Council for Economic Development, H.E Mohamed Omar Abdullah, Undersecretary of the Department of Economic Development signed the agreement at a ceremony which was held at ADCED's office.
H.E Mohamed Omar Abdullah stressed the significance of co-operation; he stated: "The MOU will now allow us to put both our efforts together to deliver our aims". H.E Mohamed Omar Abdullah also encouraged the follow up and is anticipating improvement in the partnership between the two organizations.
In highlighting the importance of the co-operation between DED & ADCED, H.E Fahad Saeed Al Raqbani said, "We are pleased to sign the MoU with the Department of Economic Development Our teams have already worked together in important projects such as The Abu Dhabi Economic Vision 2030. Our two organizations are seeking to achieve the same objective, ensure the continued success of the Emirate's economic development. Together we will promote and participate in a number of workshops and seminars. We are looking forward to further develop our collaboration"
The signing ceremony was also attended by senior staff from both organizations. Representing DED were: Mr. Saeed Ghanem Bin Hamooda - Executive Director, Policies & Legislations Sector; Mr. Ghanem Mohammed Almazroui - Executive Director, Supportive Service Affairs Sector; Dr. Habib M. Wazir - Policies & Regulations Department; and Mr. Mubarak Al Mansoori - Chief Public Relation and Media Officer. Representatives of ADCED were: Ms. Dima Al Bawardi, Corporate Affairs Division and Mr Maktoom Al Mazrouei, Head of Human Resources.
