Abu Dhabi, UAE, 19 February 2015

To showcase its latest innovations in the military segment, 3M's Personal Safety Division (PSD), the world's leader in safety and protective equipment, will participate at the 2015 edition of the International Defence Exhibition and Conference (IDEX) which will be held at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC) from the 22nd - 26th of February.

This year, 3M will be showcasing its latest solutions in personal safety for the military, police and civil defense segment, such as the Ceradyne Range, which features military specific technology in helmets, the only helmet to have passed the U.S. Marine Corps Enhanced Combat Helmet specification protocol. The company will also be showcasing 3M Peltor™ Communication Equipment as well as hearing, head and face protection products which are designed for noisy and hazardous environments.

"As the world's leader in safety and protective equipment, 3M constantly designs and develops innovative solutions which are of benefit to military, police and civil defense personnel who use personal protective equipment on a regular basis," said Chaouki Bahsoun, General Manager, Safety and Graphics Business Group, 3M Gulf. "The military segment is one of the industries that require highly advanced protective equipment. At 3M, we have developed a set of customized systems which allow the military to improve efficiency, reliability, and safety of its personnel," he added.

"3M's Personal Safety Division will be participating at IDEX for the 3rd time, during which we will be showcasing our latest innovations in military products some of which are completely new to the region such as Ceradyne Range," said Ramy Tolba, Division Manager for Personal Safety Division, 3M Gulf. "IDEX is one of the most strategically important defense exhibitions in the world and is a perfect platform for us to launch and showcase our latest innovations in the field of personal safety and protective equipment," he added.

In addition to the Ceradyne Range and Peltor Communication Equipment, 3M will be presenting ComTac™ XPI, which help reduce exposure to hazardous levels of noise and enable two-way radio communications, and Maxim Ballistic eyewear which is designed to wear specifically in combination with an ear muff and/or a helmet.

The company will also demonstrate 3MTM E-A-RTM, Combat ArmsTM 4.1, the new hearing protection solution for the military and law enforcement applications. This solution has both an open mode to hear commands while protecting against impulse noises such as gun-fire and a closed mode for continuous, steady noise and impulse noise protection.
