Furniture retailer imports around 80,000 items from around the world for its UAE showrooms
Abu Dhabi, 3rd November 2007: 2XL, the premier French fashion furniture and home accessories retailer in the UAE, announced today the opening of its fourth branch at the Abu Dhabi Mall. This is the second 2XL branch in Abu Dhabi.
Located on the third floor of the popular downtown shopping complex, the showroom features the new display format for 2XL - a more compact but stylish décor that reflects its contemporary image. Spread over a floor area of 11,500 square feet, the store is fashionably divided into two levels and offers a complete range of furniture and home solutions to the discerning shopper from living room sets, bedroom and dining room to home accessories.
2XL also offers an exclusive collection of kitchenware from Progressive, the UK-based international supplier of a wide range of kitchen gadgets, accessories, cookware and pepper, salt and spice mills.
2XL is the furniture and home ware brand of the Abu Dhabi Co-operative Society (ADCOOPS), the leading retail chain in Abu Dhabi and the UAE. 2XL branches in the UAE are located at Al Ghurair City and uptown Mirdif in Dubai and the Mina Centre in Abu Dhabi. The retailer has around 80,000 selections of furniture and home accessories imported from around the world.
"Our unique concept of contemporary designs with French elegance has won us recognition from both the UAE nationals and expatriates. Our stylish displays appeal to the sophisticated tastes of our customers from different parts of the world," Georges Mojica, Chairman of 2XL and General Manager of ADCOOPS said. "We present fully co-ordinated home solutions which makes shopping experience easier and quicker for our discerning customers."
"Our new showroom in Abu Dhabi Mall is a significant milestone in 2XL's growth in the capital, and is part of our strategy to penetrate the major shopping centres across the country," Mojica added.
With population of Abu Dhabi projected to reach 1.3 million by 2013 and hundreds of thousands of residential units expected to hit the market over the coming years, and figures expected to triple by 2030, there is tremendous potential for business in the emirate, and plans are already underway for the company's expansion.
"We plan to have up to eight showrooms in the UAE by the end of 2009. We have already been approached by three major shopping centres that are currently being developed in Dubai and two in Abu Dhabi. We also plan to extend our reach across the region by mid-2009," Mojica said.
Following the success of the French brand in Europe, 2XL opened its first branch in the UAE more than four years ago after entering into a franchise agreement with ADCOOPS, and has become a well-respected brand in the local market, known for its quality and value.
