12 March 2007
Dubai, United Arab Emirates - Now available around the region, the 2007 Cadillac SRX features an all-new elegantly handcrafted interior, a new sport model and a new six-speed transmission on Northstar V8 equipped models, all of which take the luxury sport crossover to new levels of refinement.

The SRX interior features a new instrument panel, hand-wrapped upper trim, console, centre stack, door trim, wood trim, analogue clock and steering wheel. The redesigned cockpit is a more inviting and luxurious environment, with softer tactile surfaces, new flush-mounted switches and controls, and greater use of wood grain and chrome trim. Real and perceived spaciousness is enhanced via the streamlined new centre console and the addition of a new storage compartment on the passenger side of the instrument panel.

The new instrument panel and door trim are built using Cadillac's new "cut-and-sew" interior process that combines advanced technology with the hand-rendered expertise of expert craftsmen. The vehicle's new cockpit is hand-built, in the same painstaking fashion Cadillac applies to the limited-production STS-V and XLR-V models, bringing elite craftsmanship into the heart of the luxury marketplace.

The SRX has two engine combinations: the 4.6 litre Northstar V8 VVT (Variable Valve Timing) or the 3.6 litre V6 VVT New for 2007 is the 6L50 Hydra-Matic six speed transmission that provides increased performance and fuel efficiency.   The V8 engine is sophisticated, technically advanced and generates 320 horsepower at 6400 rpm and 427 Nm of torque at 4400 rpm, while the 3.6 litre V6 VVT makes 255 horsepower at 6500 rpm and 344 Nm of torque at 2800 rpm.

For 2007, SRX consumers can choose a new appearance package to make the exterior of the vehicle communicate better its performance driving character. The SRX Sport is an option package featuring front and rear sport fascias, new body-coloured grille with V-Series style mesh backing, four inch dual polished exhaust tips, six-speed automatic with Driver Shift control, and optional 20 inch Sport wheels with performance tyres (AWD only). It also features all-wheel drive and a limited slip differential - the first time Cadillac has applied this performance differential to an AWD model.

SRX's in-vehicle electronics and entertainment package receive a major enhancement for 2007. The renowned Bose 5.1 Digital Surround system is available as an option for the first time on SRX, while the Bose system previously optional on the SRX now becomes the standard audio package. SRX will offer a "theatre" package consisting of Bose 5.1 Digital Surround, DVD navigation and rear seat DVD entertainment.

At first glance, SRX is instantly recognisable as a Cadillac and yet is unlike anything else on the road. The family resemblance to CTS and Escalade is immediately evident; its Cadillac bloodline shows through in its chiselled vertical tail lamps and headlamps and V-shaped grille. At the same time, it clearly stands out from its European and Japanese competitors.

All Cadillac models come with a free service and maintenance package for four years or 100,000km (whichever comes first), in addition to around the clock roadside assistance and General Motors' patented bumper-to-bumper warranty.  This unsurpassed care package offers Cadillac customers an unparalleled sense of security and total peace of mind, enhancing the overall Cadillac experience.
