Sharjah - More than 110 employees from various departments of the government of Sharjah recently completed a Certificate of Achievement in American English Conversation program conducted especially for them by the Continuing Education Center (CEC) of the American University of Sharjah (AUS).

The program, which was conducted in co-ordination with the Department of Human Resources Development of the government of Sharjah, drew employees from a wide spectrum of governmental organizations, such as Sharjah Television, Sharjah Police Academy, Sharjah Airport, Sharjah Municipality, Sharjah Police, Sharjah Customs Department, Sharjah City for Humanitarian Services, and Sharjah Women's Clubs among others.

Hanan Rashid Al Jarwan, Director General of the Human Resources Development Department, expressed her appreciation for the wise policy approved by His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah to develop the national human resources potential present in the various departments of the government. She also expressed satisfaction at the certificate program, which will enhance the performance potential of the workers in the public sector. This improvement will be reflected in better service offered to clients in governmental departments, she said.

Bashir Abolail, Director of the CEC, praised the hard work and commitment put in by the 113 government employees who completed the certificate course. "This certificate program is divided into eight levels, with an average of 30 hours per level, and lasts from between five to eight weeks. We are happy for and proud of every one of these individuals who completed this program," he said.
