Riyadh: The Saudi Stock Exchange (Tadawul) closed Monday in the red after its benchmark Tadawul All Share Index (TASI) retreated 18.14 points, or 0.2%, to 8,448.48 points.

TASI’s trading volume reached 160.8 million shares, up from 104.96 million shares on Sunday, while liquidity jumped to SAR 4.05 billion, from SAR 2.83 billion.

The commercial and professional services sector decreased 3.9%, followed by media with 2.3%, banks with 0.12%, and materials with 0.12%.

On the other hand, the telecommunication services sector rose 1%.

Amana Cooperative Insurance Company’s stock was the worst performer after dropping 8.5%, whereas Saudi Kayan Petrochemical’s stock led gainers with 6.2%.

In the meantime, the main index of the Nomu-Parallel Market, NOMU, slid 44.91 points, or 1.6%, reaching 2,787.62 points.

Nomu’s traded volume stood at 83,400 shares on Monday versus 42,700 shares on Sunday, while its turnover nearly doubled to SAR 1.18 million, from SAR 634,620.

Al-Samaani Factory for Metal Industries’ stock went down 4.1%.

Arab Sea Information System, up 6.3%, was the most active in parallel market's trades after 42,030 shares were exchanged, generating SAR 488,500.
