KYIV- Commodity giant Glencore Agriculture said on Tuesday it had completed the acquisition of a Ukrainian vegetable oil export terminal in Mykolayv in southern Ukraine from Orexim group.
Ukraine is the world's largest exporter of sunflower oil, shipping abroad 6.3 million tonnes of sunoil in 2019/20 season.
"This acquisition reinforces our long term commitment to the agriculture sector in Ukraine and establishes Glencore Agriculture Limited as a key and reliable partner within the global vegetable oil supply chain," the company quoted its CEO David Mattiske as saying.
The company did not provide the purchase price.
Everi terminal facility was built in 2010 and was last expanded in 2018. It has a static storage capacity of 160,000 tonnes and is able to load up to 1.5 million tonnes of vegetable oil per year for export.
