The public and private school calendars for the next three years have been announced by the Ministerial Council for Development.

The 2018-2021 calendars applies to private schools with foreign curriculums, as well as public and private schools that follow the curriculum of Ministry of Education (MoE).

Private schools with foreign curriculum has been awarded a marginal break of no more than a week (more or less) than the dates approved in the school calendars. However, the school must get an authorization from the relevant education authority in their emirate.

The school calendar has been approved following a thorough and detailed study on the requirements of the teaching and education process and is in line with the MoE's vision in fulfilling an efficient learning process.

The winter break shall commence on December 16, 2018 to January 10, 2019, while the winter recess for the academic staff will start on December 23, 2018 and end on January 3, 2019.

The summer holidays will begin on June 30 this year, according to the school calendar.
