The Qatari ministry of health on Wednesday placed Jordan on its "red" COVID-19 travel list, as part of the Gulf country’s update to its COVID travel rules. In a statement posted on its website, the Qatari ministry of health said the new classification will take effect as of Saturday, until then Jordan will be listed as “green”, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

The ministry posted the procedures for arrivals from countries classified on the "green, red and exceptional-red" lists with regard to COVID-19 testing and quarantine. Besides Jordan, the Qatari ministry of health also added five Arab countries to its "red" travel list, including the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Lebanon, Sudan and Algeria.
