Baharain's leading telecom services operator Batelco said it has partnered with YuppTV, the largest South Asian OTT content provider, offering access to more than 100 Indian Live TV channels and Bollywood movies.

Available on subscription basis, the offering includes content in Hindi, Malayalam and Tamil languages, a video on demand library of Indian TV shows and Yupp TV’s catchup feature that records up to one week of Live TV, said the company in a statement.

Yupp TV is being offered to Batelco’s home Internet and mobile subscribers for an additional BD4 ($10.5) monthly.

Mobile subscribers who activate the YuppTV service will also benefit from 5GB of data free on top of existing data packages, it stated.

Batelco’s consumer division general manager Maha Abdulrahman said: “This partnership aims to provide on-demand video services to meet the needs of our customers, in line with the increase in online entertainment offerings during this digital era.”

YuppTV VP and Mena head Zahra Zayat said this partnership gives Bahrain residents the opportunity to enjoy watching their favourite TV channels and Bollywood movies, non-stop and on any device at any time, thanks to the attractive data bundle offered by Batelco.

“YuppTV’s objective is to provide a state-of-the-art TV experience for subscribers through providing a rich package at a very affordable price and we believe our partnership with Batelco will create great value particularly for the South Asian population in Bahrain.”

YuppTV content is accessible from a range of connected devices including Android and iOS smartphones and smart TVs, she added.-TradeArabia News Service
