TUNIS - Prime Minister Mohamed Ghannouchi received here this morning Turkish State Minister for Foreign Trade Zafar Caglayan, who is paying a working visit to Tunisia, on the occasion of the second Tunisian-Turkish Partnership Council Meeting.

The Turkish Minister said the meeting had allowed to highlight the importance of relations between Tunisia and Turkey and look at means to develop co-operation in all fields, particularly trade and tourism.

He went on saying that emphasis was also put on the need to increase trade exchange between the two countries, especially in the sectors of textile-clothing, ready-to-wear, tourism, medicines , and car parts .

The Turkish Minister expressed his country's will to make the most of the available opportunities to further promote Turkish investments in Tunisia, pointing out that several Turkish businessmen are willing to invest in Tunisia , announcing that a Turkish group is planning to set up very shortly a tourism project in Tunisia.

He stressed the need to increase meetings between Turkish and Tunisian businessmen in order to raise partnership opportunities.

The Turkish Minister described as ''positive and conclusive'' the Turkish delegation's visit in Tunisia since it enabled more than 200 Tunisian and Turkish businessmen to establish fruitful contacts.

The meeting was attended by the Minister of Trade and Handicrafts and Turkey's Ambassador in Tunis.
