Bahla: The Omani wheat production in the Wilayat of Bahla this year amounted to 563 tonnes and 473 kg, while the production of red sugar reached 247,160 kg and 23,610 kg of the Zij variety extracted from sugar cane.
Abdullah bin Ali al Hinai, Director of the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources in Bahla, said in a statement to the Oman News Agency, "The wheat varieties are characterized by high productivity and resistance to diseases and to environmental and climatic conditions, pointing out that there are 6 cane presses in the wilaya.
