BARDO - Convening, Friday, in plenary session, the National Constituent Assembly (NCA) decided to delay the examination of articles 147, 148, 149, 154, 155, 158 and 159 of the draft electoral law which are still focus of dispute between the parliamentary caucus.
The disputed points provide for the sanctions of the election offenses and more particularly on the deprivation of freedom.
The consensus commission convenes, this evening, to further discuss these disputed points and reach compromise before submitting them in a plenary session for adoption. During the Friday plenary session, the NCA adopted articles 143, 144, 145 and 146 related to appeals and articles 150, 151, 152, 153, 156, 157 and 160 of the chapter of the electoral offenses.
