A key conference will be held in Bahrain next month to discuss legislation related to health and education, among other important issues.

The ‘Working Together to Achieve Legislative Aspirations’ will be held on July 3 and 4 under the patronage of Shura Council chairman Ali Saleh Al Saleh, at a venue to be decided later.

It will include the participation of prominent speakers from Bahrain and the region who will debate mechanisms to achieve legislative aspirations and harmonisation between legislative needs and implementation.

It aims to spread awareness about the work of the legislative authority and its efforts in discussing various legislation essential for Bahraini society.

“The purpose of the conference is to strengthen community partnership between members of the legislative authority and society and to inform participants about the nature of legislative work and how to draft bill proposals,” said legislative and legal affairs committee chairwoman Dalal Al Zayed.

“It also includes the basics and pillars of legislative work – between the needs and the ability to implement in terms of demands and challenges.

“This conference will be supportive of the work of the Shura Council as legislative achievements of Bahrain in various fields will be recognised. It will also visualise legislative needs, which will be translated via the legislative tools available for members of the Shura Council and parliament.”

Participation is open to employees and students interested in Bahrain’s legislative and legal affairs and registration will be announced through the Shura Council website and on social media.

Discussions will include legislation related to health, education, government services and the general budget, among other key topics.
