TUNIS - An oil research permit called "Jenein Centre" was granted Monday to Canadian "Storm" company as part of a production-sharing agreement with Tunisia's oil company ETAP.

Located in the southern governorate of Tataouine, this permit covers an area of 312 square Km. Financed by "Storm" company for an amount of about 6 million dollars (7,7 million dinars), the planning of the five-year works of the initial period aims to drill an exploration well.

The agreement relating to this permit was signed by Minister of Industry, Energy and Small- and Medium- Sized Firms Afif Chelbi, "Storm" company chairman Matthew Brister and ETAP Chairman and Managing Director Khaled Becheikh.
