Bahrain - Holding of career expos will depend on the Covid situation, Labour and Social Development Minister Jameel Humaidan said yesterday.

It will also need an approval from Bahrain’s National Taskforce to Combat Covid-19, he said.

The Labour Market Regulatory Authority has stepped up efforts to announce job vacancies in local newspapers to allow interested Bahrainis and expatriates to apply, the minister said.

The GDN reported last week that LMRA will start accepting requests for new work permits from Sunday following its temporary suspension in March due to Covid.

This will allow private sector employers to recruit from abroad. The decision followed a decision by the Government Executive Committee, chaired by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Premier.
