Exports from the Amman Chamber of Industry (ACI) in the first 10 months of 2021 increased by 12 per cent compared with the same period in 2019, ACI announced on Monday.

The chamber's industrial exports stood at JD4.205 billion during the January-October period of 2021, compared with JD3.753 billion for the same period in 2019, ACI statistical data showed, according to the Jordan News Agency, Petra.

The US, India, Saudi Arabia and Iraq accounted for the majority of the ACI's exports during the first 10 months of 2021, standing at JD2.472 billion, the chamber said.

ACI's exports to the US increased during the January-October period of 2021 by 80 per cent, making it the top importer of the chamber's exports with a value of JD829 million, compared with JD416 million for the same period in 2019.

The chamber's exports to India also increased during the past 10 months of 2021 by 31 per cent, standing at some JD727 million, compared with JD556 million for the same period in 2019.

ACI exports to Saudi Arabia during the January-October period of 2021 dropped by 7 per cent to JD473 million, compared with around JD510 million during the same period in 2019.

ACI exports to Iraq during the first 10 months of 2021 dropped by 1 per cent to JD443 million, compared with around JD446 million during the same period in 2019.

Exports to Syria during the past 10 months of 2021 increased by 28 per cent to JD74 million, compared with JD58 million for the same period in 2019, according to ACI figures.

Exports to other countries — mainly Indonesia, Egypt, Brazil, Algeria, Turkey, Sudan, Yemen, Belgium, Libya and Spain — increased during the January-October period of 2021.

On the other hand, exports to Palestine, China, Qatar, Kuwait, Lebanon, Italy, Bahrain, Tunisia, Mexico and Iran dropped in the first 10 months of the year.
